IGWA 2011 Fall Meeting

Register on-line at www.igwa.org

The fall meeting of the Iowa Groundwater Association will be another great program.  Trevre Andrews is coming from New York to present state-of-the-art information on light non-aqueous phase liquids (aka LNAPLs or floating products).  Adam Ward, the new hydrogeology professor at the University of Iowa, is looking forward to introducing himself and presenting some of his work focused on surface and groundwater interaction.   Three talks will revolve around the 1987 Groundwater Protection Act, which is coming upon its 25th anniversary.  We will take a look back at the Act and highlight some ramifications of this landmark legislation, discuss the current groundwater monitoring activities in the state, and take a look forward toward a groundwater protection future with a presentation by State Senator Joe Bolkcom.  Other presentations on our agenda include an interesting source water project in Cedar Falls and a groundwater remediation case study.  We are sure you will find our interesting and engaging program very well worth your time.
