The Iowa Environmental Health Association (IEHA) is a partner organization in the Iowa Public Health Gaining Ground Coalition (IPHGCC). Environmental Health has a critical role the demonstrating a local or state capacity to meet the Public Health Standards and Measures as established by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). IEHA encourages Environmental Health Professionals to be engaged in this national accreditation process. Please considering joining your peers in Public Health and enroll in this introductory FREE workshop:

Background: Iowa has actively been working to address the performance of the governmental public health system since 2004. In 2014, a coalition of partner organizations received the Gaining Ground grant from the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI). Gaining Ground is a two-year effort that seeks to catalyze national accreditation readiness and performance and quality improvement among local, tribal and state health departments in Iowa. The Iowa Public Health Association (IPHA) serves as the fiscal agent for this grant project.
