Upcoming Webinar Examines Chikungunya Virus
NACCHO, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will host "Chikungunya in the United States." Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral disease characterized by acute fever and joint pain. More than 2,400 travel-associated cases of chikungunya virus disease were reported from the United States in 2014. This webinar will update information on chikungunya virus disease epidemiology, diagnosis, surveillance, and response in the United States. The presentation will be followed by a 15 minute Q&A and discussion period. Click here to register.

Speaker: Marc Fisher, MD, MPH, is a medical epidemiologist with the CDC Arboviral Diseases Branch in Fort Collins, CO. His research activities include surveillance and epidemiology of arthropod-borne viral diseases, and the evaluation and use of arboviral vaccines.
