Public Health in Action: Taking on a Pandemic, Health Equity, Natural Disasters and More!

The Public Health Conference of Iowa*, presented by Brain Health Now, is open for registration. Plan to join us virtually April 5-9, for Iowa’s premier public and environmental health conference. 

Don't miss this year's keynote speakers: 


Nsedu Obot Witherspoon, MPH, serves as the Executive Director for the Children's Environmental Health Network (CEHN), where her responsibilities include successfully organizing, leading, and managing policy, education/training, and science-related programs. For the past 20 years, she has served as a key spokesperson for children's vulnerabilities and the need for their protection, conducting presentations and lectures across the country.


David T. Dyjack, Dr.PH, CIH is Executive Director & CEO of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), a position he has held since May 2015. He contributes to many national and international advisory committees in public health covering the broad menu of capacity building initiatives inclusive of adult continuing professional education, formal academic degrees, emergency preparedness, & environmental health. 


José Ramón Fernández-Peña, MD, MPA, is the current President of the American Public Health Association and Director of Health Professions Advising at Northwestern University, where he leads the university's efforts to support students interested in pursuing careers in the health sector. He is a founding member of the steering committee of IMPRINT, a coalition of organizations working to promote and implement best practices in the integration of immigrant professionals. 


Akwi Nji creates as a writer, performer, and visual artist. She is a former Iowa Arts Council Fellow, founder of The Hook, creator of The Remoir Project, and a champion of the artist and the arts through her role as producer of multi-media arts events in the Midwest. ​She also works with companies and organizations as a keynote speaker on the topics of art as place-making; storytelling as effective marketing; pattern disruption; and the intersection of art, economy, and civic wellness.


Registration will give you access to these great speakers, more than 30 concurrent sessions, skill-building talks, poster video presentations, an extensive exhibit hall, morning wellness primers, and daily decompress sessions!
