IWWA Best Practices & Well & Heat Pump Basics

The Iowa Water Well Association is holding summer programming for Contractors and Sanitarians this year!

"Best Practices and Well & Heat Pump Basics" will be held:

  • Wednesday, July 23 in Denison
  • Thursday, July 31 in Cedar Rapids
  • Thursday, August 7 in Ankeny

Agenda at each location:

  • 9:00 a..m.: Registration
  • 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Morning Instruction
  • 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. Lunch (included in registration)
  • 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.: Afternoon Instruction

This program will cover:

  • Refresher on PWTS and review of new heat pump rules;
  • Proper well chlorination and well sampling;
  • Proper well abandonment and conforming & non-conforming wells;
  • Approved well casing and pump equipment and proper heat pump pipe and equipment;
  • Review different places for pressure tanks and solutions to pressure tank placement and constant pressure pumps; and
  • Question and answer period.

Registration Fees:

  • $65/person for IWWA Members, County Sanitarians, DNR Regional Office Representatives
  • $130/person for non-IWWA Members
  • County sanitarians may use the grants-to-counties program to attend this event.

The program has been approved for 5 contact hours toward well driller and pump installer certification requirements, and 5 CEUs for the IEHA Registry for Sanitarians.
