Details of the scholarship:

    • $500 for the school year; scholarship may be renewed one time if the student is in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) with their respective college or university
    • Scholarship monies will be paid directly to the college or university
    • The selection committee will consist of five IEHA members.  The committee shall award the scholarship, the decision of the committee shall be final
    • IEHA reserves the right to verify any information provided on the application
    • Scholarship recipients will be notified in March and will be recognized during the IEHA business meeting which is held during The Iowa Public Health Conference each spring. 
    • Scholarship recipient will also receive a certificate and a one year IEHA membership


To be eligible for this scholarship, recipients must be:

    • A resident of the State of Iowa
    • A high school senior OR non-traditional student returning to college in the State of Iowa
    • Currently a full-time student at any college, university or community college in the State of Iowa
    • In an Environmental Health major or related field

Application Process:
    • Complete the scholarship application and mail to the address listed at the bottom of the application.
    • Include three letters of recommendation from three individuals (teachers, high school guidance counselors, employers, minister, etc.) Do not use family members
    • Enclose an official high school transcript
    • Include an essay. Essay should be approximately 250 words (one typed page, font size 11 or 12) explaining your career plans and goals
