Public Health Conference of Iowa

The Public Health Conference of Iowa

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted public health’s leadership role in the safety and security of our communities. To keep public health at the forefront of sharing lessons learned, we are excited to announce the rebranding of Iowa’s premiere annual public health conference.

The Public Health Conference of Iowa will be held virtually during National Public Health Week – April 5-9, 2021. This year’s theme is Public Health in Action: Taking on a Pandemic, Health Equity, Natural Disasters and More!

The week will consist of keynote speakers, concurrent session presentations from colleagues across the state, poster presentations, wellness breaks, a virtual exhibitor hall, and opportunities to connect virtually with public health friends.

Call for Abstracts is now Open!

You are invited to submit an abstract for the 2021 virtual conference concurrent sessions. This is a great opportunity to share your work with hundreds of public health professionals and make connections with future colleagues.

Public health professionals are encouraged to submit abstracts focused on current and emerging public health issues. Innovative programs that reach beyond traditional health and environmental circles to collaborate with other disciplines are encouraged. Session presentations may be a 20-30-minute oral presentation, a 90-minute extended presentation/workshop, or a poster presentation on the results of a health intervention/program, study or report. Please note, there will not be a separate call for student poster presentations. Students are encouraged to submit their abstracts now.

Additional information is included in the abstract submission form, available here.

This competitive abstract submission process will close on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:59 PM. Authors of selected abstracts will be notified by December 18, 2020.
