Open to all Tattooists, Piercers, Cosmetic Tattooists and anyone else involved in or interested in body art practices; and to all regulators of body art establishments.

Tuesday, September 7: Presentations will begin at 10:00 and topics will include Body Art studio insurance, MRSA, procedural site preparation, Statims, spore testing of autoclaves and more. 

There will be a social open to all attendees from 7 to 9 Tuesday night.

Wednesday, September 8: Blood borne pathogens class.  The class will start at 8:00.  Attendees will get detailed training about blood borne pathogens and infection control aimed specifically at the body art studio environment.  The course will be taught by David A. Vidra of Health Educators Inc. (www.hlthedu.com).  David brings years of experience in both the medical and body art fields to the classroom.

Those interested in attending will have the option of coming to either day or both days.  Lunch will be provided each day.  The cost for both days of the conference will be 150.00.  For those just wishing to attend day one, it will be 75.00 and it will be 125.00 for those just wishing to attend the blood borne pathogens class.

The training will be held at the Sleep Inn and Suites.  The Sleep Inn is adjacent to the Dakota Square Mall, and is the home of the Splash Down Dakota Water Park.  A block of rooms is being held at the Sleep Inn at the rate of 63.00 per night plus tax (when calling to make reservations, reference the First District Health Unit body art conference).  The room cost includes breakfast and a pass to the Splash Down Dakota Water Park.  Call the Sleep Inn at 701-837-3100 or at 1-800-SLEEPINN to make your reservation today.  Make your reservations quickly, since a limited number of rooms are available at the special 63.00 rate.  The block of rooms will be held until August 23, and are available for the 6th, 7th and 8th.  Registrations for the conference must be received before August 21, so register today.
