Dare to Lead Workshop

  • Holiday Inn Des Moines - Airport

Iowa Public Health Association invites you to join us for a one-day Dare To Lead™ workshop based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. Join us on April 6, 2020 when we will “rumble with vulnerability” as a foundation of courageous leadership.

Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program. Results of Brené’s seven-year study on courageous leadership found that the future of organizations demands braver leaders and more courageous cultures. The most significant finding is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills to help individuals, teams, and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.

This one-day workshop will touch on all four skills, however, it does not meet the 16-hour Dare to Lead™ program certificate requirements.

Our facilitator will be Dr. Rosie Ward, an accomplished speaker, writer, coach and consultant. Her expertise lies in organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and worksite health promotion. She uses her extensive knowledge to help organizations develop and implement strategies to create workplaces where the organization and its people can thrive. Rosie is one of the founders of Salveo Partners, an expert consulting and professional development firm that honors the messiness and complexity of what it means to be human in order to help organizations and their people thrive. Rosie will also be the opening keynote speaker at the 2020 Iowa Governor’s Conference on Public Health.
